  • Instructions to repeat words start with "Say" or "Repeat after me."
  • The response does not include "Say" or "Repeat after me."

Say this: "Hello. How are you?"

"Say this" is an instruction. Do not repeat "Say this".

"Say this" ("Di esto") es una instrucción. No repitas "Say this".

Hello. How are you?

Say, "What time is it?"

What time is it?

Say, "The house of my friend."

The house of my friend.

Now say it with the possessive.

My friend's house.

Repeat after me: "I am very happy."

"Repeat" is an instruction

("repeat" = "Repetir")

I am very happy.

Repeat after me: One, two, three, four.

One, two, three, four.

Here, you dropped your phone. Take it.

Oh, thank you for picking it up for me.

Take that book over there.

"Take" is an instruction or request.

"Take"= "Tomar" (una instrucción o solicitud).

Okay, I will take that book.

Ask your partner to tell you what time it is.

"Ask" is an instruction.

"Ask" = "Preguntar" (es una instrucción)

What time is it?

Tell your partner what time it is.

"Tell" is an instruction.

"Tell" = "Decir" (es una instrucción)

It is two forty-five.

The question is "What is two times two?"

"The question is" is a request.

"The question is" = "La pregunta es" (es una petición)

Two times two is four.
