News reports 12/22/24 about a man who dropped a match and burned to death a woman who had passed out on a NYC subway train.
Can we understand evil in this?  I mean, what is that person thinking -- before, during and after the incident. I can't fathom it; yet it happened.
Possibiities:
- pathological in the sense that cannot empathize with another being?
- desensitized by popular culture and crime around him
- hate
- jollies
All the above are of evil. How does this happen?
